Earlier this month, the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Global Forum in Rome saw significant contributions from Réseau Associates and Supporters, showcasing the network's growing impact on the global stage. Réseau community members actively participated in various sessions and panels, highlighting their expertise and commitment to advancing geospatial and Earth observation initiatives.

Letwin Pondo, the Réseau Network Coordinator made a notable impact as part of the Youth Ideathon. She later presented her project, "SynCity: Synchronizing Air Quality and Mobility in Harare, Zimbabwe," at the forum. This innovative project aims to improve urban environmental management by integrating air quality monitoring with mobility data.

Pooja Pandey of FAO also delivered an engaging demo on Open Foris: Free open-source solutions for forest and land monitoring, further demonstrating the practical applications of Earth observation technologies.

Jara Villanueva of AxelSpace, Japan presented during Industry pitch session: Innovative EO Solutions. Presentations from companies showcasing EO solutions aligned with GEO focus areas to leverage Public Private Partnerships.

Maryam Rabiee of UNSDSN was on a panel discussion on Human Planet Intelligence and Partnership for Better Population and Settlement Policies.

The week culminated in a dinner, bringing together Associates and Supporters, and providing a valuable opportunity to meet each other and celebrate Réseau's progress as an international network.

It's inspiring to witness our network shining at such prominent global forums and expanding its reach and influence. The contributions of Réseau Associates and Supporters in Rome exemplify the network's dedication to driving positive change through Earth observation, while supporting female geospatial practitioners.

We look forward to seeing more Réseau Associates and Supporters at the European Space Agency (ESA) Living Planet Symposium (LPS) next month, followed by the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) 2025, both events taking place in Vienna, Austria.
