“Data is the start of any economic revolution,” says Kallot. “Our thesis is that one of the reasons why the continent hasn’t been able to develop itself as fast as the Global North is because of the lack of data.”*

Originally from Central African Republic, Kate is a recognised expert in the AI field, advising international organisations and governments on the potential of data and AI to drive systemic change in Africa.

As well as this latest achievement, she has received multiple accolades for her work, including being named Business Insider Top 100 Transformer and VentureBeat Women in AI Rising Star 2020.

"If we reach the level we are aiming for, you’ll see a much different Africa in a couple of years"* - Kate Kallot
