Susan Carol Thomas
Susan Carol Thomas is a GIS engineer and geospatial analyst with experience in applied geology and spatial data science. Her research interests and activities have been in the areas of terrain analysis, earth observation, and interpretation of satellite data and its usage in GIS-based analytical tools. Her professional experience has been in remote sensing and geospatial analysis of multi-temporal data for terrain stability assessment, environment risk assessment.
Susan has been a part of various research activities in seafloor geomorphology in the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography. Her research activities have included analysing the data to assess the structural and morphological characteristics of seamounts in the Sunda Andaman subduction zone using bathymetric and geospatial data sets. Her experience has also been in hydrological and groundwater resource assessments, including internships in the National Institute of Hydrology and the Central Ground Water Board.
Her interests lie in applying geospatial technologies to understand landscape change, environmental processes, and sustainable resource management.
