Princella Ofori Darko

Princella Ofori Darko is a GIS professional with a strong academic background in spatial sciences, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in Geoinformation Science. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China, where her research focuses on the intersection of historical climate disasters, hydrology, and spatial analysis. Her doctoral work involves analyzing historical climate events and hydrological patterns to support sustainable disaster management and environmental planning.


In addition to her academic work, she actively contributes to the professional GIS community as a community coordinator in African Women in GIS, where she promotes knowledge sharing, and collaborative mapping initiatives. Her broader interests include remote sensing archaeology, cartographic visualisation, and GIS in uncovering patterns across time and space.


Princella Ofori Darko combines a rigorous scientific approach with innovative geospatial techniques to support interdisciplinary research and real-world applications in climate resilience, disaster risk management, and historical landscape studies.
