Preetilata Murmu

Preetilata Murmu is a doctoral researcher at the Central University of Jharkhand specialising in Earth Observation applications for climate change and agricultural resilience. She has served as a Research Scientist at ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), contributing to national Land Use/Land Cover monitoring initiatives using cutting-edge satellite datasets and geospatial technologies.


At Central University of Jharkhand, she worked on the Indo-US NISAR mission, focusing on mineral resource prognostication through advanced SAR applications. She holds an M.Tech in Remote Sensing & GIS and a B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS). 


Her interdisciplinary expertise bridges agricultural engineering, satellite remote sensing, and machine learning to address pressing challenges in climate-resilient food systems and sustainable land management.
