Francesca Adrienne

Francesca Adrienne is a Seychellois GIS specialist and the Founder and Chief Spatial Officer of the Seychelles Hydrospatial Observatory for Research and Exploration Institute. She leads SHORE’s mission to turn ocean and coastal data into practical decisions for islands, with a focus on modern seafloor mapping, ocean observation, and robust data stewardship for agencies and communities in Seychelles.


Her work advances the use of hydrospatial sciences, including oceanography and hydrography, to support navigation safety, climate adaptation, and sustainable use of marine spaces. Her leadership at SHORE is grounded in national ocean governance experience. She has contributed to Seychelles’ efforts on the Mascarene Plateau Joint Management Area with Mauritius and to the country’s marine spatial planning process that secures 30 percent protection of marine waters in law and policy.


Francesca writes and speaks about closing the seafloor mapping gap and strengthening SIDS decision making through open, actionable marine data. Alongside SHORE, Francesca serves as Sustainability Manager at Raffles Seychelles, aligning operations with measurable outcomes in resource efficiency, responsible sourcing, and community engagement.
