Dilshani Rubasinghe
By bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and conventional GIS techniques, Dilshani Rubasinghe, a geospatial data scientist, is committed to developing the field of spatial intelligence. She specialises in turning manual processes into automated, highly accurate geospatial roadmaps. Dilshani is currently employed as a GIS Technician in the oil and gas industry, where she uses sophisticated geospatial analysis. Her work entails mapping and high-accuracy spatial verification of wellheads throughout the main US regions.
Dilshani has supported innovation in the fields of urban planning and the environment throughout her career. She progressed from conventional mapping to creating geospatial tools with Python and machine learning, offering specialised consulting services for global projects. Her skills also include processing images from drones and satellites, where she deciphers intricate data to assist with land-use and infrastructure projects.
Dilshani is an active participant in geospatial research and a graduate of the University of Ruhuna with an Honours degree in Marine and Freshwater Science & Technology. The International Symposium on Earth Resources Management & Environment (ISERME 2023) featured her paper, "GIS-Based Analysis of Coastal Vulnerability in Southern Sri Lanka." She recently attended the Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2024) as part of her dedication to global professional engagement, and she is a leader in environmental projects such as the Zero Plastic Blue Belt Project.
