Mitigating Oil Spills in the Niger Delta with Advanced Aerospace Technologies
The Nigerian oil reserves are primarily located in the Niger delta, the largest wetland in Sub-Saharan Africa, where fishing and farming are the main sources of livelihood for majority of its residents. Sadly, it is also the most polluted in the country; Persistent oil spill disasters, amounting to losses in billions of dollars annually, pose a serious threat to both the local ecosystem and the broader economy.
